This design was inspired by the "willow" pattern you often used to see on plates - they depicted scenes from China in blue on a white background. I've always enjoyed looking at the tiny details and figures so decided to do my own version which....came out a little different! Sometimes these things happen with art. I wanted to make a more striking design so made the main colour dark blue and then used a lighter blue and white to pick out the patterns. 
 
Willow snake is approx. 6.4cm wide and 10.8cm high.
